Scoring Plays
- Less than 90 seconds into the contest, Max Coyle started the scoring for the Orange and Brown. His initial shot from the top of the left circle sailed wide, but it was collected by Ryan O'Hara. He skated back to the blue line and dropped it to Zach Vinnell, who sent it from the right boards to the right circle, finding Austen Swankler. Swankler skated to the slot and shoved the puck to Coyle, who fired a whistling shot from close to the same position that beat the goaltender glove-side.
- With under five minutes to play in the second, St. Thomas scored on the rush to even the score. Luc Laylin swiped away a loose puck at the top of the BGSU offensive zone and skated up the left side with Ryan O'Neill. Laylin passed it up to O'Neill, which fed it directly back as they skated through the neutral zone. O'Neill fired a quick shot from the right edge of the left circle, then collected the rebound and swung again from between the circles, lighting the lamp for a game-tying score.
- The Falcons only needed 72 seconds to respond, as Taylor Schneider put in a nifty backhanded shot. Ben Wozney sent the puck along the left boards, where Nathan Burke was located to bring it into the zone. He put it on the tape of Schneider, who skated into the slot. His slick backhanded shot beat Trotter stick-side, giving the Falcons the lead once again.
- In the early minutes of the third, the Tommies tied the game again. Ryan O'Neill sent the puck up the zone to Trevor Ledonne, who only got a piece of the puck on his one-timer. It was collected in the slot by Mack Byers, who fired a shot wide. O'Neill obtained the rebound and fed it back up the slot to Byers, who netted it for the second UST goal.
- With just under six minutes to play, St. Thomas took the lead. The Tommies sustained possession in the zone and fired a shot from the right circle, which was deflected away. The rebound attempt was also knocked away but traveled back to the right circle and on the stick of Mack Byers. His shot snuck by a lunging Stoever for the game-winning goal.
- The Tommies clinched the victory with an empty net goal in the waning seconds. A loose puck found the stick of Byers, who sent it up the ice to a streaking Josh Eernisse. He eluded a diving Falcon and pushed the puck across the goal line for the final goal of the game.
- Austen Swankler extended his nation-best scoring streak to 17 games with his 22nd assist of the year. This extends his season point total to 37, the best in the CCHA and second-best in the NCAA. During his scoring streak, he has 10 goals and 20 assists for 30 points. In his career, the sophomore has 23 goals and 40 assists for 63 points in 62 games.
- Taylor Schneider scored a goal for the third consecutive game, putting him at 10 goals and 19 points this season. The forward, who leads active NCAA D-I players with 173 games played, has 43 goals and 102 points in his career.
- Schneider is tied for 69th in program history in points, with teammate Alex Barber tied for 65th. Schneider ranks fifth in games played in BGSU history, with Barber ranking eighth. Additionally, the duo holds the top two spots in games played among active players. Schneider is first with the aforementioned 173, while Barber is second with 168.
- The linemates are also members of another exclusive active club, being one of only three pairs of teammates with 100-plus points. Barber is 10th (103 pts) and Schneider is 11th (102 pts).
- Nathan Burke notched his ninth assist of the year, giving him 20 points this season. The senior has scored in six consecutive games, totaling three goals and four assists for seven points in this span. As a Falcon, he has 16 assists and 43 points. In his 148-game collegiate career, he has 31 assists and 71 points.
- Max Coyle scored a goal for the second consecutive game, pushing his season total to three and career total to four. He has 11 points on the season and 21 in his career, with 16 of those coming as a Falcon.
- Ben Wozney registered his 12th assist and 14th point, both of which are team-highs among BGSU blue-liners. The sophomore has 18 assists and 21 points in his career.
- Zach Vinnell added his 11th assist of the season, the second-most among Falcon defensemen. The senior has 12 points this season and 45 in his career, with 36 of those being assists.
- Christian Stoever made 25 saves, including 14 in the final period.
