Falcons Fall To Kent State Saturday At Steller Field

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Kent State tallied four runs in the top of the first, including two home runs, to jump out in front 4-0.
- The Golden Flashes added a solo home run in the top of the second to make it a 5-0 score.
- BGSU got on the board in the bottom of the second. DJ Newman began the inning with a single up the middle. Leighton Banjoff drew a walk to join him on the base paths before a Tyler Ross sacrifice bunt moved the runners up. Ryan Johnston was able to put a ball in play, scoring Newman to close the gap to 5-1.
- KSU added a pair of runs in the top of the fifth with a two-RBI double to left field, making it a 7-1 score.
- Another solo home run for Kent State, this time in the top of the seventh, started a three-run inning for the Golden Flashes to push the score to 10-1.

- Logging a single in the first inning, Kyle Gurney continued his 13-game hitting streak.
- Nathan Rose followed Gurney's hit with a walk in the first to push his on-base streak to 15 games.
- Sam Seidel stretched his hitting streak as well with a single late in the game, making his streak six games with a hit. Seidel has now reached in 21 of his 24 games played this year and in 19 of the last 20.
- Coming on to record the last out for the Falcons, Logan Bell made his first appearance this season after missing the majority of last season with an injury.
- Jacob Turner logged another scoreless outing of relief. Turner has now registered five straight scoreless relief appearances, spanning across six innings.
