Bowling Green will start with Purdue Fort Wayne on Tuesday (March 18) followed by Dayton on Wednesday (March 19), both scheduled for 3 p.m. first pitches at Steller Field. The Falcons enter the homestand with an eight-game winning streak, on the cusp of a double-digit winning streak for the first time since 2010. As always, admission is free at Steller Field for both games this week, all six games of the homestand, and the full home schedule.

What To Watch For
Wright Closing In On Program Record
As a freshman last year, Garrett Wright set the program record for times being hit by a pitch in a season with 21, passing TJ Blanton's 15 from the 2010 season. Now, Wright is closing in on Blanton's career record as well. Wright has already been plunked 10 times this year, pushing his career total to 31. The total has him tied for second in program history and just two away from breaking the program record. Currently, the mark stands at 32 HBPs, set by Blanton from 2007-10. With 10 HBPs this year, Wright is already inside the single-season top 10 for BGSU once again.
Falcons Feeling Lucky In March
Over the last two seasons, Bowling Green has found success in the month of March. During the 2024 season, Bowling Green finished with a 10-6 record in March. This year, BGSU has already built on that success. Just past the midway point of the month, the Falcons are 9-2 in March with nine games to go, six of which will be at home. A large part of that success has been the Falcons' current eight-game winning streak, the longest since winning 11 straight in 2010. In program history, the Falcons have had a double-digit winning streak a grand total of eight times with 2010's 11 being the most recent. The program record for consecutive wins is set at 13 from the 1976 season.
Last Team Standing
For the second straight season, Bowling Green is the last team left in the Mid-American Conference with an undefeated MAC record. BGSU is now 6-0 through two weekends after sweeps on the road over Ohio and Akron. Last year, BGSU posted a MAC baseball record 17-0 start to MAC play, the second-best in BGSU Athletics history. Before the 2024 season, the best MAC start in program history had been set at 7-0, achieved once in 1995. Now, the Falcons are one MAC win away from hitting that mark in consecutive seasons.
Birchmeier At The Bat
Brady Birchmeier has positioned himself as one of the MAC's most dangerous hitters this season. So far this year, Birchmeier has driven in a MAC-leading 29 RBI for the Falcons with a four-RBI cushion between himself and the next on the list. Birchmeier is currently the only player in the MAC to be hitting above .350 with at least five home runs and 20 RBI, posting a .352 batting average and six long balls in addition to his 29 RBI. Birchmeier's strong start has placed him 13th in the nation for RBI per game, averaging 1.71, while being 28th overall for total RBI.
Penrod From The 'Pen
Connar Penrod has emerged as a leading arm in the BGSU bullpen. In each of the first two MAC weekends, Penrod recorded two saves for the Falcons, giving him five on the season. He now just needs one more to enter the program's top 10 for saves in a single-season. To start the year, Penrod has registered 10.0 scoreless innings, maintaining a perfect 0.00 ERA. He's also struck out 19 batters over that span, second on the team despite having less than half the innings of the team's leader, Nic Good with 27 strikeouts over 22.1 innings. Penrod is now tied for the MAC lead in saves and is tied for fourth in the nation in the stat, being just two shy of first in the country.
