Seidel Extends Strong Start With Two-Hit Effort
CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University baseball team took on the Cincinnati Bearcats on Wednesday (Feb. 25) in the team's first midweek action of the season as well as the first game in the state of Ohio for BGSU this year. The Falcons were paced by a two-hit day from Sam Seidel, including him scoring the lone run of the day for Bowling Green. However, Cincinnati pushed ahead for an 11-1 final score in seven innings. The Falcons will transition to a weekend series at Samford before beginning MAC play next week.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Cincinnati tallied two runs in the top of the first to take a 2-0 lead in the early going. UC added another in the second for a 3-0 start.
- In the fourth inning, Sam Seidel led off with a single into center field. He stole second base later in the inning before taking third on a grounder. Another grounder, this time off the bat of Zack Horky, was enough to bring home Seidel for a 3-1 tally.
- Cincinnati responded with a run in the bottom of the fourth and two in the fifth for a 6-1 score. A three-run home run later in the fifth extended the score to 9-1. The Bearcat advantage moved to 10-1 after the sixth before another tally in the seventh resulted in the 11-1 final.

- Sam Seidel extended his hot start to the season with another two-hit game, his fourth of the season through just seven contests. Seidel also swiped his seventh stolen base of the season after entering the game 22nd in the nation for total steals and eighth for steals per game.
- Anthony Mitta registered a hit for the Falcons, extending his hitting streak to a team-high four games.
- Griffin Scheiderer made his first start for Bowling Green, serving as the designated hitter. He knocked his first collegiate base hit in his first at-bat of the game.
