Takats Logs Three-Hit Day, First Double Of 2026

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University baseball team wrapped up the weekend series against the Ohio Bobcats on Sunday (March 22), concluding the first home series of the season for BGSU. The Falcons jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the game, but a six-run sixth for Ohio pushed them in front before adding an insurance run in the seventh for a 7-3 final. Bowling Green will have a quick turnover with an off day Monday before two midweek games, playing Tiffin on Tuesday (March 24) and Findlay on Wednesday (March 25), both at Steller Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED

To lead off the second inning, TJ Takats roped a double to right field for the first BGSU hit of the game and the first extra base hit of the season for Takats.
Sam Seidel led off the third inning with a walk. A hit-and-run with Andrew DiLodovico put runners at the corners to set up an RBI single from Anthony Mitta.
Takats kept it going, drawing a walk to load the bases, before Zack Horky was hit by a pitch to score DiLodovico for a 2-0 BGSU lead through three innings.
DiLodovico started the fifth inning by being hit by a pitch. Mitta hit a single followed by a Horky walk to load the bases. Another walk, this time from Pauly Mancino, pushed home DiLodovico for a 3-0 BGSU lead after five innings.
Ohio scored six runs in the sixth inning for a 6-3 score. OU adds another run in the seventh.

Andrew DiLodovico stayed hot at the plate with his third-straight multi-hit game to push his hitting and scoring streaks to six games. Over the last six games, DiLodovico is hitting .435 (10-for-23) with eight runs scored, four RBI, a triple and a home run.
TJ Takats logged his first three-hit game of the season while also knocking his first multi-base hit of the season with a double.
Anthony Mitta tallied a two-hit game for the Falcons, continuing his stretch of a hit in nine of the last 10 games while adding seven RBI and four runs scored over the 10-game span.
