Stade Registers 10 Strikeouts, His Third-Straight Outing With Eight Or More Ks
The Falcons were paced in the game by Ethan Stade on the mound. Stade went seven innings, giving up just one run on six hits and one walk while striking out 10. Stade now has eight or more strikeouts in three consecutive outings and has 10+ twice in his last five appearances. As for the plate, Anthony Mitta led the way with a three-hit, four-RBI day while Sam Seidel added a three-hit day of his own.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Ethan Stade got the day started with a one-two-three top of the first, needing just 13 pitches to log two strikeouts and a fly out, setting the tone for the game.
- Sam Seidel tallied the first hit of the day, dropping a single in front of Akron's left fielder with one out in the bottom of the first. TJ Takats nearly replicated the hit later in the inning, but a diving catch by the Akron left fielder ended the frame.
- In the second inning, Brayden Curlis led off by blooping a single into shallow center. A sacrifice bunt from Lance Vickers moved Curlis to second before an Anthony Mitta single to right center scored Curlis for the first run of the day.
- Andrew DiLodovico started off the third by being hit by a pitch. Takats followed by belting a double into the left center gap, scoring DiLodovico from first. Curlis was hit by a pitch as well to put two on. Another Vickers sacrifice bunt moved both runners into scoring position, setting up another Mitta RBI single to right center with both Takats and Curlis crossing home for a 4-0 lead through three innings.
- Griffin Scheiderer singled through the left side of the infield to begin the fourth, later stealing second to move into scoring position. With two outs, DiLodovico singled up the middle score Scheiderer to push the lead to 5-0.
- Akron tallied a run in the top of the sixth for a 5-1 score.
- The Falcons quickly answered with a solo shot to center off the bat of Mitta to begin the bottom of the seventh, pushing the score to 6-1.
- The Zips added a run in the top of the eighth to make it 6-2, but the Falcons closed out the game from there for the final.

FALCON STAT FACTS
- Ethan Stade was once again lights out for the Falcons starting on the mound. Stade tossed seven innings while giving up just one run on six hits and one walk. He struck out 10 in the outing, giving him three-straight games with eight or more strikeouts as well as in four of his last five outings. This is also the second time this year he has registered double-digit strikeouts, tallying 11 against Kent State on March 7.
- Anthony Mitta belted his second home run of the season, and first since Feb. 20, as part of a three-hit, four-RBI day. Not only did both stats lead the team, but they also set new season-highs for Mitta.
- Andrew DiLodovico was hit by a pitch to begin the bottom of the third, extending his team-leading on-base streak to 10 games. DiLodovico later added a hit and an RBI, giving him a hit in nine of the last 10 games and an RBI in six of the last eight. Over the last 10 games, DiLodovico has 14 hits, 10 runs scored and seven RBI.
- Sam Seidel tallied his fourth three-hit game of the season and his first since March 20. The three-hit game broke Seidel out of a skid where he had one hit in the last four games.
- TJ Takats tallied another double for the Falcons, giving him a hit in four of his last five games. During that stretch, Takats also has an extra base hit in four of the last five games with three doubles and one triple.
- Brayden Curlis continued a stretch of finding ways to get on base, drawing two hit-by-pitches in addition to a hit and scoring twice. Over the last six games, Curlis now has eight hits, five RBI and four runs scored.
- The Falcons are now 5-0 this season when holding their opponent to two runs or fewer this season.
