Bowling Green and Western Kentucky met last week where the Hilltoppers swept the Falcons in three games. In game one, the Falcons were held to just five hits and a run in a 12-1 score. Game two the Falcons put up a much better fight where the two teams went back and forth all nine innings. Down two runs heading into the ninth, the Falcons tied the game in the top half before allowing the game-winning run in the bottom half, losing 8-7. WKU came out on fire in the first two innings of the finale, scoring seven times in the first two innings. The 'Toppers kept pouring it on scoring five more times after six complete innings and ending with a final score of 12-3.
THREE TIMES A CHAMP!
The Bowling Green Falcons come off a year where they rattled off their third consecutive Mid-American Conference Eastern Division championship. It is the first time in BGSU program history such a feat had been accomplished. In 2008 and 2009, the Falcons won the conference regular season championship, as well. BGSU will pursue its fourth straight MAC East title, this season.
