THE FALCONS vs. THE HUSKIES ...
Bowling Green and Northern Illinois have played a total of 35 times since their first meeting in 1968. The Falcons hold the edge on the series, 23-11-1 all-time. Last season the Huskies won the series while playing in Bowling Green after losing five of their last six meetings to BGSU. The last time the Falcons played a series in DeKalb (2005), BGSU won the series and two games out of three, one of those in extra-innings. NIU has not won a home series since 2003 when the Huskies beat the Falcons three out of four games.

ON DECK ...
Following the Falcons' series with NIU they will play Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio for a mid-week, non-conference match up. Their next conference opponent are the Eastern Michigan Eagles, who come to play at Warren Steller Field (Bowling Green, Ohio) on April 1-3.
MAC WRAP

The Falcons have enjoyed 30 seasons of .500-or-better play in the MAC out of 58 total seasons. Since 1994, the Falcons have had 12 winning regular season in conference play in its last 18.
EASY ON THE EXTRAS
In just 16 games this season the Falcons have played in four extra-inning games this season, holding a 1-3 record in those contests. The Falcons were twice taken to extras against Cleveland State on the weekend of March 18, splitting those games. In games that have gone to extra innings, the Falcons have been outscored by a margin just as close as those games have been, 20-21. In 2010, the Falcons played in only three extra-inning games all year, holding a 1-2 record in those games.
FALCONS REACHING HOME MARKER
Bowling Green is approaching a new milestone at the very park that has seen much of the program's action and successes. The Falcons have an all-time record of 397-270-7 (.594) and need three more to reach 400 all-time at Warren Steller Field. The Falcons next home action is against Eastern Michigan University on the weekend of April 1.
MIDWEEK GAMES POSTPONED
Due to inclement weather, the Falcons were rained out of both non-conference games they were scheduled to play earlier this week. They will make up their games against the University of Dayton and Central Michigan later this year at a date to be announced.
WOOTEN SETS CAREER HIGHS
Despite the fact that the game's results landed him a no decision, senior RHP Charles Wooten had a career day against Cleveland State on Sunday, March 21. He tossed 6.0 innings and struck out nine hitters, both career highs. He allowed two runs, though both were unearned in his fifth inning of work. The game ended in a 3-2 loss in ten innings.
HIGH AND LOW FOR HOWARD
Freshman UTL Brandon Howard had a career day at the plate on Sunday, March 21 against Cleveland State going 5-for-5 with five singles on the day. The unfortunate news coming after the game's end was that somewhere caught up in the action, Howard suffered a foot injury that will sideline him for 4-to-6 weeks while he recovers.
THREE FALCONS VYING FOR MLB ROSTER SPOTS
With its rich history of producing talent bound for the professional baseball, three former Bowling Green Falcons are vying for roster spots on Major League ball club rosters. Outfielder Nolan Reimold (Baltimore Orioles), infielder Andy Tracy (Arizona Diamondbacks) and pitcher Burke Badenhop (Florida Marlins) are all competing for opportunities with their respective teams. Reimold was once a serious candidate for the 2009 Rookie of the Year award before injuries slowed his progression. Tracy has enjoyed time with multiple teams over his ten-plus year career, including stints with the World Champion Philadelphia Phillies. Badenhop has had success as a starter and out of the bullpen for the Marlins and is again in the mix for a relief role with the Fish.
