Bowling Green has won nine straight games versus OU, sweeping them in their last three series, and has won 11 out of the last 12 against the Bobcats.

APTHORPE STRINGS'EM TOGETHER
In three of his last four starts, RHP Cody Apthorpe has given the Falcons the best chance of winning with his mound performances. Over his last two starts, he has a combined line of 16.0 IP, 13 H, 2 R, 12 K, 3 BB, 1.13 ERA and a 1.00 WHIP. That success was interrupted after being roughed up by EMU on April 1, but was preceeded by six innings of masterful work against NIU (3/25), allowing one run on three hits and striking out a then-season-high seven hitters. He set his reset his season-high and career-high strikeout total to eight in a one game at Ball State (4/8).
GET OFF YOUR KUBUSKI-ES!

Since Bolwing Green's home opener against Norwestern Ohio University on March 16, Kubuski has been one of the most consistant hitters for BGSU, hitting safely in 18 of the last 21 games. In that time, the freshman has hit .338, with 12 runs scored, 14 RBI, six doubles, two home runs and just 11 strike outs in 80 at bats.
APRIL HAS BEEN KIND TO SCHLATER
Through the senior's first 18 games, the Johnny Bench Award nominee had batted only .212 on the season. Since the turn of April, he has raised that average over 80 points to .295 over the last 13 games and is currently on an eight-game hit streak. He has hit safely in 13 of the last 16 games with multiple hits in four of those. He also currently leads the team with four home runs, three of which have been hit this month.
HITTING WELL IN MAC PLAY
Through 12 conference games this season, the Falcons have a 7-5 record but have been hitting very well against the competition. Collectively, the Falcons have a .312 batting average as a team (compared to their .278 clip overall). They have collected double-digit hits in 9-of-12 MAC games and missed double digit hits twice by one base knock. Eight of their 14 team home runs have come in MAC play.
FALCONS EARN MARQUEE WIN OVER BUCKEYES
Though non-conference play hasn't been extremely kind to the Falcons all season long (7-14), the team pulled off a spotlight win over Ohio State University on Wednesday (April 20), 5-4. Behind the pitching of Matt Malewitz and a bullpen that pitched three effective innings, the Falcons won the middle innings, scoring five times between the third and fifth frames from all around the order.
A PAIR SITTING ON EIGHTS
Two Falcons are currently sitting on eight-game hit streaks. C/OF Ryan Schlater and OF Andrew Kubuski both have matched Jon Berti's season-high for consecutive games with a hit and look to surpass that this weekend against Ohio. Next in line is 3B Frank Berry with a five-game hitting streak, one shy of a previously set season-high.
FALCONS HIT WAY TO HOME WIN #400
Bowling Green has hit a new milestone at the very park that has seen much of the program's action and successes. The Falcons achieved their 400th home victory with a 13-10 win over arch-rival Toledo on April 16. They now have an all-time home record of 400-275-7 (.593). The Falcons took two of three against the Rockets that weekend to acheive the feat and look to continue their home success against Ohio U. this weekend.
MALEWITZ GOES BACK-TO-BACK WITH SOLID STARTS

After a slow start to the 2011 season, remnants of the 2009 All-MAC selection Matt Malewitz have resonated on the hill in his last two starts. On Wednesday, April 20, he threw six solid innings against Ohio State, allowing three runs on five hits while striking out four in a 5-4 victory. The redshirt-junior tossed 6.1 innings versus Dayton on (4/13) and entered the seventh inning having allowed only one run before allowing two Flyer runners on the bases that later came around the score. He finished with a line of 6.1 innings of work, six hits and three runs allowed, six strikouts and a walk. His previous start versus Oakland (4/6) was his longest prior outing at 3.1 innings but he was tagged for five runs (two earned). In five of his seven previous appearances to the Dayton game he had not lasted more than two innings. In his last two starts, Malewitz has a combined line of 12.1 innings pitched, 11 hits and six runs allowed, ten strike outs, two walks, while maintaining a 4.37 ERA and a 1.05 WHIP.
SINGER WITH A “K”
A feat for anybody to accomplish, freshman Ben Singer has managed to accumulate at least one strikeout in every one of his ten relief appearances this season. He has totaled 15 strikeouts in ten appearances, spanning 13.0 innings. He had a season-high three strikeouts in one inning against Air Force (3/12). He currently has a 4.85 earned run average and an 0-2 record.
