Last Weekend
The Bowling Green State University ice hockey team lost to Western Michigan Friday night, falling to the Broncos, 3-1, in the first game of their home-and-home series. Junior Bryce Williamson scored the lone Falcon goal, while senior Andrew Hammond stopped 29-of-32 shots in the loss.
Over The Weekend
The Falcons battled to a 2-2 tie with Western Michigan Saturday night, eventually falling in a CCHA Shootout. Sophomore Ryan Carpenter and junior Andrew Wallace scored for Bowling Green, while freshman Tommy Burke stopped 18-of-20 shots in the contest. Bowling Green was held scoreless on the power play for the eighth-straight game, going 0-for-3 with the man advantage. The Broncos took advantage of their six opportunities, scoring both of their goals while on the power play.
Wallace Strikes
Junior Andrew Wallace scored his first goal of the season Saturday night, helping the Falcons to a 2-2 tie. Wallace's goal marks his first since Oct. 15, 2011, in a 3-0 win against Alabama-Huntsville on the road last season. Wallace's tally snaps a personal 50-game goal drought.
Carpenter Is On a Roll
Captain Ryan Carpenter regained his scoring touch this past weekend, securing an assist Friday night and a goal Saturday. Carpenter was plus-2 in the series against Western Michigan, and is now the team leader with seven total points. Carpenter's goal Saturday gives him three on the season, tying him for the team lead, while his plus-4 on-ice rating ranks second on the Falcons.
Sullivan Continues
Sophomore defenseman Mike Sullivan continues to impress this season, leading the team with a plus-5 on ice rating. Sullivan finished 2011-12 with an on-ice rating of minus-6. Sullivan's three points is also tied for the team lead among defenseman.
Welcome Back Mingo
Dajon Mingo secured an assist on the Falcon's first goal Saturday, giving him six points on the season. Mingo's assist snapped a six-game point drought, dating back to the Falcons' 3-1 win over Colgate (Oct. 19).
Welcome Back Willy
Bryce Williamson's tally Friday night marked his first goal of the season, and his first goal since March 3, 2012, a 5-3 win against Northern Michigan in the CCHA Playoffs. Williamson scored nine goals last season, ranking fourth on the Orange and Brown.
Short Handed
The Falcons allowed their fourth short-handed goal of the season Friday night. Bowling Green allowed three short-handed goals total last season. Andrew Hammond has allowed three of the shorties, while freshman Tommy Burke has allowed one. The Falcons allowed five short-handed goals against in 2010-11.
Lawson
With the Falcons' 3-1 loss to WMU Friday night, Bowling Green's winless streak at Lawson Ice Arena extends to seven-straight games. The last Falcon win at Lawson came on Jan. 19, 2008, a 2-1 win in overtime.
Hammond
Along with a season low 12 shots on net, Bowling Green allowed a season high 32 shots against Friday night. Andrew Hammond made 29 stops in the contest, tying his season-high against Michigan State (Nov. 2) in the Falcons 1-0 shutout win at Munn.
Two Goals
The Falcons were able to muster two goals Saturday night, breaking a three-game streak where they had scored just one goal. Prior to Saturday, Bowling Green's last game with over one goal scored was against Ohio State, a 3-3 tie (SOW) on Oct. 27 at the BGSU Ice Arena.
Home Not So Sweet

Power Play Drought
The Falcons were 0-for-8 on the power play this past weekend against, increasing the Orange and Brown's power play drought to eight games. In that span, the Falcons have gone 0-for-32, dropping to 3-for-49 on the season.
Penalty Kill Problems
Bowling Green has also struggled on the penalty kill, allowing three power-play goals over their two-game set with Western Michigan. The Falcons have allowed seven power-play goals in their last 18 opportunities, allowing a power-play goal in the last three games.
Ferris State
The Falcons were 2-5-0 against Ferris State last season, going 0-2 against the Bulldogs at home and 0-4 during the regular season. Bowling Green defeated Ferris State in the second round of the CCHA Playoffs, winning the best two-of-three series to reach Joe Louis Arena. DeSalvo's three-goal effort in the team's last meeting marked the first Falcon to record a hat-trick since Derek Whitmore, in a 4-1 win against Western Michigan (Jan. 18, 2008) at the BGSU Ice Arena. Goaltender Andrew Hammond is 2-6-0 in his career against Ferris State, including a 3.99 goals against average and a .878 save percentage. Hammond's career against Ferris State is highlighted by a 54-save performance in the first game of their second round series last year. Hammond's effort fell two saves short of the Bowling Green single-game record, and helped the Falcons to a 3-2 overtime win. Jordan Sigalet owns the Bowling Green record for saves in a game with 56, against Notre Dame in a 5-3 Falcon victory on Oct. 17, 2003.

Ferris State Last Week: The 18th-ranked Ferris State University men's ice hockey team took an early lead, but fell short in a 4-1 road loss versus Lake Superior State in the opening game of a Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) weekend series at Taffy Abel Ice Arena in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.Junior wing Justin DeMartino scored the lone Ferris State goal, while goaltender CJ Motte had 23 saves in the setback for the Bulldogs.
FSU earned a weekend split with Lake Superior State as the Bulldogs posted a 2-1 win over the Lakers on Saturday (Nov. 10) night at Taffy Abel Ice Arena in Sault Ste Marie. DeMartino and junior Cory Kane scored for the Bulldogs. Motte registered 43 saves on the evening while the Lakers' Kevin Murdock totaled 26 saves. The Lakers totaled 44 shots on the night to 28 for the Bulldogs.
