Defensive struggles would once again plague the Bowling Green State University baseball team on Friday afternoon, as they were defeated by the Bradley Braves, 12-4. Bradley led 8-0 after the top of the third, but two Falcons' errors led to four runs being unearned. With the loss, the Falcons are now 3-10 on the season.
Ethan McKenney got the start for the Falcons, but would last just 1.2 innings. Kevin Delapaz relieved McKenney and was sharp, going two innings in just his second appearance of the season.
The Falcons would get two runs back in the third, helped in part by two freshmen. Brian Bien got on with a one out walk, which was followed by a Jesse Rait double down the line. Jake Thomas would follow that up with a single scoring both runners, making the score 8-2 after the third.
Jake Overbeck relieved Kevin Delapaz, going 3.1 innings in his first collegiate appearance. He allowed just one run while striking out three. The Falcons would score single runs in the fifth and ninth innings. Andrew Kubuski scored in the fifth on an infield RBI single by Rait, and Matt Vannett hit a solo home run in the ninth to make the final margin 12-4.
Alex Nossaman and Jack Masin also pitched in relief for the Falcons, going two combined innings and allowing three runs. The Falcons will play their final game of the Russ Matt Invitational tomorrow morning at 10 am against Maine.

*Jake Overbeck was impressive in his first collegiate appearance, going 3.1 innings with three strikeouts.
*Brian Bien and Jesse Rait were a combined 6-for-6 on the day with two runs scored.
