>>VERSUS MICHIGAN TECH
- All-time, Michigan Tech holds the advantage over Bowling Green by a 18-13-4 margin. A tough opponent in recent years, the Falcons have gone 9-11-3 against the Huskies since joining the WCHA.
- The match up has emerged as a true conference rivalry, as this weekend will mark the fourth time the Falcons and Huskies will meet in the post-season since Bowling Green joined the WCHA following the 2012-13 season. This will also be the first post-season meeting between the two schools since the 2017 WCHA Championship Game (MTU, 3-2 OT).
- Bowling Green split the regular season series with the Huskies earlier this season, dropping the first game 2-0 before winning game two 3-2. On Friday (Jan. 11) night, Bowling Green and Michigan Tech would play two very even periods with equal chances throughout. It was not until late in the third period that the Huskies would tally two.
- The Falcons would bounce back, winning game two on Saturday (Jan. 12) night 3-2. John Schilling and Alex Barber would score a pair of goals for Bowling Green in the first period of the contest. Both scores would come on redirected shots in front of the net taken from the top of the circle. BGSU would carry their lead into the third period before the Huskies would strike for back-to-back goals. Alex Barber would score his second goal of the night on a redirected shot during a power play to retake the lead for BGSU. This ended up the game-winner as the Falcons would hang on for the victory.
