Eastern Michigan Defeats Bowling Green On Sunday Afternoon

YPSILANTI, Mich. – In the rubber match of the three-game conference series, the Bowling Green State University baseball team was defeated by Eastern Michigan University by a score of 4-0. The Mid-American Conference ballgame was played at EMU's Oestrike Stadium on Sunday (April 7) afternoon.
Bowling Green drops to 11-16 on the season with the loss. The Falcons are 5-4 in Mid-American Conference play. Eastern Michigan moves to 7-24-1 (2-7 MAC) with the win.
Eastern Michigan quickly took a 2-0 lead with a two-run second. The Eagles would go on to tack on insurance runs in the fourth and eighth innings. BGSU out-hit Eastern Michigan, 9-7.
Gage Schenk earned his first conference start, and threw 3.0 innings while allowing just one earned run. The freshman struck out three, and issued only one walk. Damon Egnor came on in relief, and allowed one run over 2.1 innings. Egnor posted three punch outs. Danniel Buratto struck out one and tossed 2.0 innings of one-run ball, before Chase Antle blanked the Eagles over 0.2 innings on the hill.
Dylan Dohanos led the Bowling Green offense, going 4-for-5 on the afternoon. Brad Croy went 2-for-4 at the plate, while BGSU's other hits were recorded by Adam Furnas, Riley Minorik and Tyler Haas.
