Six Different Falcons Drive In Runs In Season-Opening Loss At Lipscomb

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Bowling Green State University baseball team had a huge day at the plate in a 15-10 loss at Lipscomb University in the 2020 season opener. The ballgame was played at LU's Dugan Field. The three-game series will conclude with a pair of games over the weekend.
The Falcons took a pair of early four-run leads. Bowling Green scored the first four runs of the game in the top of the second. BGSU then took a 6-2 lead in the third. However, the Bisons scored 13 of the game's final 17 runs to pull away.
LU took a 7-6 advantage following a three-run fourth. Both clubs then traded three-run innings in the fifth. The Falcons tied the game by plating a single run in the sixth, but Lipscomb countered with a three-run sixth before tacking on two more runs in the eighth.
Nine different Falcons registered at least one hit, including each of the first five players in the lineup. Six different BGSU players drove in a run, seven different players scored at least one run. Adam Furnas (3-for-5) led the team with three hits and three RBI.
Nick Neibauer hit a two-run home run in the fifth. The homer – which gave the Falcons a 9-7 lead – marked the second home run of Neibauer's career. Dylan Dohanos and Ryan Johnston each went 2-for-5. Johnston had one run and one RBI, while Dohanos had two RBI.
Kyle Gurney, Jack Krause and Trent Farquhar each recorded their first-career hits on the afternoon. Krause scored a run, while Farquhar had one run and one RBI. On the day, the Falcons had 13 hits.
