Scoring Plays
- The Wildcats went on the power play just 30 seconds into the game and were able to capitalize. Michael Collela sent the puck deep in the zone to Artem Shaline. He found a crashing Joey Larson on the left side, who fired in the power play goal. Assists went to Collela and Shaline.
- Seven minutes into the game, the teams faced off in the NMU offensive zone. AJ Vanderbeck collected and fired the puck from the left circle, going top shelf for the goal. Shlaine earned the lone assist.
- The Falcons scored their first goal while on the power play with just over nine minutes left in the second period. Spencer Schneider collected the puck on the left side of the NMU zone, then found Austen Swankler skating down the middle. Swankler dished it to Dalton Norris as they approached the blue line, then Norris made a nifty pass back to Swankler at the right circle. He fired a shot through a tight window, beating the goalie for BGSU's first score. Norris and Schneider were credited with the assists.
- Just 15 seconds later, Bowling Green tied the game. Jaden Grant dumped the puck into the Wildcat zone, where an NMU defender briefly possessed it behind the net. Grant was able to poke the puck away to Ethan Scardina, who found the back of the net with his shot from the left side of the crease. Grant earned the lone assist.
- In the third period, Christian Stoever made a save that deflected the puck near the BGSU bench. Ben Wozney collected it and sent it up the ice to Austen Swankler. Swankler passed it to Chase Gresock in the middle, who pushed it to Dalton Norris on the left side. Norris found Swankler on the backside, and Swankler fired in his second goal of the night to give Bowling Green the lead. Norris and Gresock registered the assists.
- Northern Michigan had a power play chance out of a third period media timeout and took advantage with a game-tying score. Alex Frye sent the puck to the crease, where David Keefer was able to bat it down and collect it. His shot trickled in, tying the game at 3. Assists went to Frye and Vanderbeck.
- In overtime, a blocked BGSU shot found its way to AJ Vanderbeck. Skating on a 2-on-1 breakaway, Vanderbeck fired the game-winner in from the left circle.
