Scoring Plays
- Nathan Burke put the Falcons on the board past the midpoint of the opening stanza. A scrum in the crease saw the Tommies attempt to clear, but Zach Vinnell collected it. He fired from the point, then Burke attempted to knock in the rebound. The initial rebound attempt was saved, but Burke was able to corral the puck and sneak in a backhanded shot from the right side of the crease.
- Burke added to the BGSU with just over three minutes to play in the first, tallying his second goal of the evening. After his initial shot from the top of the left circle was blocked, he snagged the loose puck and dumped it behind the net. Taylor Schneider won the race to the puck and sent it through traffic and back up the slot, where Burke was located to fire it in for the second Falcon score.
- After an array of penalties that saw the game go over five minutes without a 5-on-5 session, the Tommies got on the board with an even strength goal with 6:28 to play in the second. Jake Braccini stole the puck from the Falcons at the blue line and skated along the left side with a 2-on-1 rush. He did it himself, ripping a shot from the left circle that went top-shelf for the first UST goal.
- Less than a minute later, the Tommies tied the game. Garrett Daly dumped the puck into the left corner, where it was dug out by Ryan O'Neill. His centering pass found Mack Byers, who slipped a shot through for the game-tying goal.
- St. Thomas took the lead with just over seven minutes to play in regulation. Stoever attempted to poke the puck away but it was intercepted by Cameron Recchi. He fired at the net, where it deflected off of Tim Piechowski and across the goal line.
- With under two minutes to play, the Falcons pulled Stoever and brought on an extra skater. About 10 seconds later, Austen Swankler tied the game. He worked the puck from right-to-left, finding Dalton Norris, who passed it along the blue line to Ben Wozney. He pushed it down to the left circle to Chase Gresock, who ripped a one-timer that was saved. The rebound landed to the right of the crease, where Swankler was located to send it in for the game-tying goal.
- Round 1: Burke (BGSU) miss; Braccini (UST) make
- Round 2: Gresock (BGSU) make; Laylin (UST) miss
