BGSU To Welcome Eastern Michigan To Steller Field For Weekend Series

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University baseball team will return home to Steller Field this weekend to host the Eastern Michigan Eagles. The Falcons and Eagles are set for a three-game series. Friday's (April 14) game is scheduled for a 3 p.m. start. Due to heavy rain in the forecast on Sunday, the final two games of the series will be played in a doubleheader on Saturday (April 15). The first game will begin at 12 p.m. with the second game starting approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one. Saturday will also be Alumni Day at Steller Field, recognizing the 1998, 2008 and 2013 MAC Championship teams.

Scouting Eastern Michigan
Eastern Michigan will enter the weekend slate with a 15-15 record this season while being 5-10 within the Mid-American Conference. The Eagles are in the midst of a three-game winning streak. EMU topped Miami (OH) on Sunday 8-1 at home to start the streak. The Eagles then played a home-and-home series with MAC rival Western Michigan, winning both games and outscoring the Broncos 34-15 over the two games played that were recorded as non-conference.
Against the Eagles All Time
The all-time series between Bowling Green and Eastern Michigan dates back to the 1939 campaign. Over 184 meetings, EMU holds the advantage with a record of 111-73. Last season, the Eagles took three of four in the series in Ypsilanti and have won seven of the last eight in the all-time series. BGSU's last win at home over Eastern Michigan came by a 10-3 score on March 31, 2018.

From the second inning through the fourth inning, the Orange and Brown struck out seven of eight batters, including Isaiah Seidel sending down the Buckeyes in order in the third inning all on strikes. Ohio State claimed the 8-2 final behind three home runs.
