Roque, Krause Knock Home Runs For BGSU
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Nathan Archer took the first pitch of the game through the right side of the infield for a single. Archer stole second before Caden Parker legged out an infield single to put runners at the corners. Garrett Wright put a bunt down the first base line, scoring Archer for a 1-0 BGSU lead.
- In the next at-bat, Tyler Ross put a single in play. An error on the throw allowed Parker to score with Ross taking second. Jack Krause followed suit, ripping a single up the middle and taking second on an error while Ross scored for a 3-0 advantage.
- The rally continued with Landon Roque finding a hole in the left side of the infield, logging an RBI single with Krause touching home for a 4-0 BGSU lead with just one out recorded in the game.
- Eastern Michigan hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the second to cut the deficit down to 4-2 through two.
- EMU added a run in the third with a bases loaded single due to a sliding attempt to be safe at first on an infield hit and 4-3 score.
- A passed ball in the fourth inning tied the game with EMU moving in front 6-4 later in the inning.
- After a scoreless fifth, Krause put the Falcons back on the board with a solo home run to center to begin the sixth inning, cutting the EMU lead down to one, 6-5.
- Roque followed Krause's home run by being hit by a pitch. Sam Seidel converted a hit-and-run to put runners at the corners. Takats laid down a push bunt to score Roque for a 6-6 tie.
- Archer stepped in with Seidel on second and traded places with him, ripping a double to right to score Seidel and push the Falcons back in front 7-6.
- Roque added an insurance run for the Falcons to begin the eighth inning with a solo shot to left, pushing the score to 8-6.
- In the bottom of the eighth, Eastern Michigan added one in the bottom of the eighth for an 8-7 tally.
- In the ninth, Parker was hit by a pitch with Ross and Krause walking to load the bases. Another walk, this time to Seidel, forced home Parker for a 9-7 BGSU lead and an EMU pitching change.
