Falcons Claim 30-Win Season; Match Program Record For MAC Wins
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University baseball team continued a historic season on Thursday (May 16) with a 3-1 win over Toledo. The win for the Falcons marks the 15th 30-win season in program history for Bowling Green and the first since 2010. Additionally, BGSU now has 22 MAC wins for just the third time in program history, matching the program record held by the 1995 and 1999 Falcon squads. BGSU and Toledo will continue the series on Friday (May 17) at Fifth Third Field, the home of the Toledo Mud Hens, with a 7 p.m. first pitch.
For the Falcons, Rigo Ramos stood strong on the mound in the start on the BGSU side of a pitcher's duel. Ramos tossed four scoreless innings for the Falcons before Tyler Ross belted a solo home run to give the Falcons the lead. Toledo tied the game in the sixth, but another Ross home run in the bottom half pushed BGSU back in front. An insurance run in the seventh for Bowling Green, a strong Isaiah Seidel outing out of the bullpen and a Jacob Turner save secured the win for the Orange and Brown.
