• Jackson Glines leads the Wolverines with an average of .342. He is one of two players on the UofM roster with a batting average of over .300. The other is shortstop Travis Maezes, who is hitting .308 on the year.

• BGSU traveled to Akron this past weekend. The Zips entered the weekend at 9-3 in the MAC, tied atop the MAC East standings.
• Bowling Green swept UofA, winning all three games by a combined score of 28-13.
• The Falcons tallied 45 hits on top of their 28 runs scored.
• During their four-game winning streak, BGSU has scored 45 runs and totaled 63 hits.
• The Orange and Brown squeaked out a narrow 9-7 victory on Friday night over Akron, before finishing off the weekend sweep with convincing 11-5 and 8-1 wins on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
Rewriting The Record Books
• Redshirt senior Mike Frank is second in school history with 282.1 career innings pitched. The right-hander is just 12.2 innings shy of the all-time record currently held by Kip Young (295.0; 1973-76).
• Frank became just the third pitcher in school history to surpass 200 career strikeouts over the weekend. He now has 201 strikeouts, just 31 behind Young's all-time record of 232.
• Ben Singer has made 78 career appearances, good for a sixth-place tie all-time at BGSU.
• Jeremy Shay has doubled 11 times this season, including one last weekend. He now has 43 career two-baggers, eighth-most in school history.
• T.J. Losby has had a prolific career, spent mostly behind the dish. His 974 putouts are fourth most, just 64 shy of the all-time record.
• Fellow senior Jeremy Shay is right behind Losby for career putouts. Shay has 889 putouts of his own, fifth-most all-time.
• Shortstop Brian Bien has 399 career assists, good for seventh all-time in school history.
• Senior outfielder Andrew Kubuski has 604 at-bats during his career, just five shy of the top 10 all-time.
Losby A Leader In All Aspects
• T.J. Losby will serve as a tri-captain of the Falcons in 2014. He was also a captain during the 2013 campaign.
• Losby, who has become one of the best catchers in the Midwest, was named first team All-MAC and second team All-Midwest Region in 2013.
• The senior has also played in 144 straight games, dating back to 2011. He is one of just six players since 2001 to play in every game over the span of two consecutive seasons, which he did in both 2012 and 2013.

Speed Separating Falcons
• Bowling Green has swiped 42 bases in 2014 through the first 35 games. In 2013, the Falcons stole just 37 bases in 55 games.
• BGSU has stolen 20 bases during the first 15 games of the MAC schedule.
• Three Falcons have at least nine steals in 2014, while four others have at least two.
• The Falcons have been an efficient bunch when it comes to stealing bags, swiping them at a 76% success rate.
• Brian Bien was a perfect 3-for-3 over the weekend on stolen bases. He now leads the team with 11 on the year in 14 attempts. Patrick Lancaster (10-for-15) and Brandon Howard (9-for-10) also pace the Falcons.
Losby Leading The Charge
• In 15 MAC games so far in 2014, T.J. Losby has batted .446 to increase his average to .347 on the year.
• Losby is tied for the team lead with 25 hits in MAC play. He is also tied for the team lead with five extra base hits (three doubles, two triples).
Apthorpe, Losby Have CLASS
• Bowling Green State University seniors Cody Apthorpe and T.J. Losby were named national candidates for the Senior CLASS Award this week, two of just 30 players in the country.
• Apthorpe and Losby are the only two players to be listed among the national candidates from the Mid-American Conference.
• The award is named for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School.
A Tough Out In The Leadoff Spot
• Junior shortstop Brian Bien has been a tough out in the leadoff spot of Danny Schmitz's lineup all season long.
• Bien is leading the team with a batting average of .370. He has 50 hits, and a team-high 28 runs scored.
• The Cincinnati native has used his speed to wreak havoc on the opposition all season. He leads the Falcons with 11 stolen bases and eight sacrifice hits, among nine bunt singles.
Shay A force In The Middle Of Lineup
• Senior first baseman and catcher Jeremy Shay has been a force in the middle of Danny Schmitz's lineup each of the last two seasons.
• After hitting .265 during his first two seasons, Shay has batted well over .300 each of the past two seasons to raise his career batting average to .300.
• Shay enters the week with 173 career hits, 99 RBI, and 98 runs scored during his career.
• Shay's 43 career doubles lead the Falcons and are the eighth most in school history. His 15 career home runs lead the Orange and Brown.
Defense Makes The Difference
• After two straight seasons of committing over 100 errors, Bowling Green has played much better defense in 2014.
• The Falcons have committed just 53 errors in 35 games this season for a fielding percentage of .960.
• BGSU is 9-2 this season when not committing an error. The Falcons are just 5-14 when committing two-or-more errors.
Schmitz's 2014 Staff Very Familiar
• Anyone involved with Falcon baseball knows Danny Schmitz, who returns for his 24th season in 2014.
• For the seventh consecutive season, assistant coach Rick Blanc will serve on Schmitz's staff as the pitching coach and recruiting coordinator.
• Mike Huling returns for his second season under Schmitz. Huling served as the volunteer assistant coach in 2013 before being promoted to assistant coach in 2014.
• Garrett Gray, an All-Horizon League player at Wright State, joins the coaching staff as the volunteer assistant coach in 2014.
• Drew Kuns will assist the program as an undergraduate assistant in 2014. Kuns, who played from 2010-12 under Schmitz, served in a similar capacity in 2013.
