HOW IT HAPPENED
- Griffin Scheiderer drew a lead off walk for the Falcons followed by a Sam Seidel single to quickly put runners at the corners for BGSU. Anthony Mitta followed with a single through the right side, bringing home Scheiderer for a 1-0 lead before the first out was recorded.
- Vinny Salvione kept the rally going with a double into left field, bringing home Seidel from second. A grounder by TJ Takats followed in the next at-bat and was enough to score Mitta. Later in the inning, Carter Mottice legged out an infield single that was enough to score Salvione, pushing the Bowling Green advantage to 4-0 after the top of the first.
- In the second inning, Zack Horky reached on an error and stole second. He was joined on the base paths by Scheiderer, drawing a walk, before a bunt single from Seidel loaded the bases with no outs. Mitta ripped a liner up the middle off the leg of the pitcher. Miami fielded the ball for an out, but Horky scored in the process for a 5-0 tally. A walk to Salvione loaded the bases again with a passed ball moving each runner up, including Scheiderer home for a 6-0 score.
- After a scoreless third, the Falcons went back to work in the fourth. Scheiderer led off with a double to deep left center followed by a Seidel walk. A Mitta grounder moved the runners up and brought the infield in. Salvione knocked a single past the infielders, bringing in both Scheiderer and Seidel for an 8-0 advantage.
- The Falcons put together a two-out rally in the seventh. Andrew DiLodovico singled up the middle followed by a walk to Mottice. A single to left by Brayden Curlis scored DiLodovico for a 9-0 lead.
- Scheiderer led off the eighth inning with his second double of the day, Seidel doubled through the right side, switching places with Scheiderer for a 10-0 score.
