Last Weekend
The Bowling Green State University ice hockey team dropped a 4-2 decision to Northern Michigan Friday night, after allowing three-straight Wildcat goals in the first ten minutes of play. Junior Bobby Shea and senior Cameron Sinclair scored for the Falcons, while junior Andrew Hammond stopped 23-of-27 shots in the loss.
The Falcons lost a close game to Northern Michigan Saturday night, falling to the Wildcats 2-0. Junior Andrew Hammond stopped 21-of-22 shots in the loss.
Sweeps
Northern Michigan's sweep of the Falcons marks the sixth time this season Bowling Green has failed to secure a regulation win in a weekend set. Prior to this past weekend, the Falcons were last swept by Bemidji State (Dec. 30-31) on the road.
Looking For 20
Coach Chris Bergeron is looking for his twentieth win as head coach of the Falcons. Bergeron is currently sitting at 19-45-9 as head coach of Bowling Green, with a record of 7-37-8 in conference play.
The Streak Grows
Bowling Green is currently on a seven-game power-play goal drought. The Falcons have not recorded a power-play goal since Jan. 20, when they defeated Alaska 3-1 on the road. Lack Of Consistency
Bowling Green has not secured back-to-back regulation wins since Nov. 11-12 against Canisius at the BGSU Ice Arena. The Falcons have only secured three-straight wins once this season, sweeping Alabama-Huntsville (Oct. 14-15) before defeating Lake Superior (Oct. 21) on the road in the first game of the series.

Bowling Green's 2-0 loss to Northern Michigan Saturday night marks the fifth time this season the Falcons have been held off the scoreboard. Freshman Ryan Carpenter currently ranks fifth among freshmen in the CCHA with 20 points on the year. Carpenter's point total leads Bowling Green, and marks the first Falcon to register 20 points in a season since Jordan Samuels-Thomas scored 21 last season.

Wallace And The Faceoff
Sophomore Andrew Wallace continues to dominate in the faceoff circle for the Falcons. Wallace has won over 60 percent of his draws this year, the most on the Falcons. Sophomore Mike Fink is second among centers, winning 50.4 percent of his draws. Wallace has registered five points this season, a new career high.
Rodriguez Goes Cold
Junior Marc Rodriguez returned to the Falcon lineup against Bemidji State (Dec. 30) after missing the first half of the year due to injury. Rodriquez scored two goals in five games after his return, but has since been held scoreless. Rodriguez is currently on a seven-game point drought.
Success Against No. 1
The last time Bowling Green took down the no. 1 ranked team in the country, was during the 2007-08 season. The Falcons defeated the Miami Redhawks 4-2 at the BGSU Ice Arena, behind a two-goal effort from Jacob Cepis. Goaltender Jimmy Spratt stopped 25-of-27 shots in the victory.

The Falcons lost both games to the Bulldogs earlier this season at the BGSU Ice Arena, including a 4-0 loss to Ferris State in the first game of the series. The loss marked the first time that Bowling Green had been shut out in the 2011-12 campaign.
